Users can search for the message using a third-party app called Notification History. However, there are some limitations. Only the first 100 characters of the deleted WhatsApp messages are retrieved; images and other multimedia files cannot be recovered once deleted, only text messages; the feature only works on Android Nougat and above builds.

Apple has reportedly agreed to give limited aid to the Indian government in developing an anti-spam app for the iPhone after a years-long battle with telecoms regulator TRAI. Apple is reportedly working with TRAI on an anti-spam app for India.
