The giant e-commerce claims that some products will be discounted by up to 90 percent, and customers will be able to choose EMI offers on debit cards from multiple different banks. Flipkart hasn’t released any teasers or promotions on specific products to be discounted yet. Facebook Steps Up Suicide Prevention Efforts Facebook is stepping up its efforts to tackle the Blue Whale Challenge and similar content promoting self-harm and suicide. The social network announced that it has been working with suicide prevention organizations to understand better and respond to phrases and hashtags that could identify such content. It will also display support group information to people who appear to be reading such content. Facebook will add tools to its Safety Center that will allow people to contact or report friends who seem to be expressing suicidal thoughts to Facebook so that helpful material can be sent to them.

Android 8.0 Oreo beta released for OnePlus 3 users OnePlus is gearing up to release Android 8.0 Oreo updates for its recent smartphones, and some OnePlus 3 owners have been able to participate in a closed beta to test the software before its final release. The company is also expected to offer public betas to OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 3T users before the end of this month. OnePlus announced that these three phones’ updates would be rolled out in 2017. Beta users report many bugs, so there is still time for a final public release.

It was rumored that Google was in talks to acquire HTC’s ownership of Motorola. Google’s ownership of Motorola was short-lived, but now it looks like the company is looking to get back into the hardware game and is reportedly in talks to take over HTC’s smartphone business.
