Sony will launch its new PlayStation Plus in India next week. The update brings the service tointo four tiers: Essential, Extra, Deluxe, and Premium. While the Essential is the basic version, Deluxe and Premium are the highest tiers, depending on your marketyou’renew PlayStation Plus aims to help Sony increase its revenue. It also aims to better compete with MicrosoftMicrosoft’se Pass – a similar multi-tier service designed specifically for gamers on Xbox.
On this week’s Gadgets 360 podcast Orbital episode, host Akhil Arora speaks with insider Rishi Alwani and video game enthusiast Pranay Parab — both former Gadgets 360 teammates — to talk about the new PlayStation Plus and the growing market of game subscription services. That already exists. Xbox Game Pass is the leading name.
We kick off the conversation by discussing the benefits gamers will get with the new PlayStation Plus service. Sony will launch it in India on June 22.
Rather than considering India as part of the Asian rollout, the Japanese company has taken the country to Europe to schedule the release of the new service.
“From the”point of view of consumer behavior, or the buying and playing habits, India is more in line with the western market,” says Ri”hi. “It’s als”It’sause the branch of Sony that got its bearings in India and the Middle East was Sony Computer Entertainment of Europe, which was also known as Ski London.”
He also” adds that the other reason Sony considered India to be part of Europe is that the country is a “PAL areameaningnin” it is based on the PAL color coding system.
The new PlayStation Plus has three levels to choose from in a given market. The Deluxe tier is available in markets where cloud streaming is unavailable, while the Premium version is intended for needs with cloud streaming.
India gets the Deluxe tier as cloud streaming by Sony is not yet available.

He also sees that the annual plan that goes up to Rs. 5,749 for the PlayStation Plus Deluxe is a fairly expensive purchase.
Unlike Sony, Microsoft offers Xbox Game Pass under a trial offer to attract gamers. The Redmond company also regularly provides promotional offers and discounts to convince Xbox users to choose the subscription-based service. In addition, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate – the top service tier – is available with access to EA Play, which gives access to a list of Electronic Arts (EA) titles.
However, Xbox Game Pass also has its limitations.
