Reliance Jio has introduced new plans for its portable Wi-Fi hotspot JioFi, which only apply to new customers. When purchasing a new JioFi (Rs. 1,999), an accompanying SIM card, and the Rs. 99 Jio Prime subscription service, you can choose from four charging packages with different data limits and validity periods: Rs. 149, €. 309, €. 509, and Rs. 999.
Each pack is designed around a four-week 28-day charge cycle. The lowest of the lot gives you 24 GB for 12 processes at Rs. 149, at 2 GB per cycle. Moving to Rs. 309 gets you 168 GB for six cycles, with a limit of 1 GB per day. At Rs. 509 JioFi users get 224 GB for four cycles, with a limit of 2 GB per day. Finally, Rs. 999 gives you 120 GB for two processes, with no daily limit.
14 Xiaomi phones – except Redmi Note 4 – will soon receive Android Nougat Xiaomi has released a list of its smartphones that will receive the coveted Android 7. x Nougat update on Tuesday, with a total of 14 phones. Of those, eight – the Redmi 4X, Mi Max, Mi Note 2, Redmi Note 4X, Mi MIX, Mi 5, Mi 5s, and Mi 5s Plus – get v7.0 while the other six – the Mi 6, Mi Max 2, Mi 5c and Redmi 4X – get v7.1.
The Redmi Note 4, launched in August last year and arrived in India in early 2017, will surprisingly miss Nougat. That’s especially weird, considering Nougat had arrived before the phone went global.
Meanwhile, the Redmi 4 – another phone released a few months ago – went on sale temporarily on Tuesday afternoon. It was available for a few hours through Amazon India and Mi.com. The next Redmi 4 sale will occur on July 10 at 5 pm.
Moto M2 is coming in October, while Moto E4 goes on sale unofficially. According to a new report, the Moto M2 is tipped for an October launch and will have two RAM/storage variants: 4GB/32GB and 6GB/64GB. The phone has a 5.5-inch full-HD display and a “cutting edge” MediaTek processor. The report added that it would be available in more markets than its predecessor.
Lenovo appears to have quietly launched the Moto E4 in India on Tuesday when a Mumbai retailer uploaded a video showing the box and inside, claiming the phone was now on sale. It costs Rs. 8,999 and gives you a 5-inch HD display powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek chip and 2GB of RAM, with 16GB of internal storage and Android 7.1 Nougat. Regarding camera settings, the Moto E4 has an 8-megapixel f/2.2 sensor on the back and a 5-megapixel f/2.2 sensor on the front.
Flipkart has slashed the price of Lenovo Vibe K5 by Rs. 3,000 as part of a one-day sale, which began at noon on Tuesday and ended at 11:59 pm. During that period, the phone will cost Rs. 9,499. The discount only applies to the lower 4GB RAM/32GB internal storage variant. Lenovo Vibe K5 is available for Rs. 3,000 less for one day.
Apple tests 3D facial scanning for next iPhone Facing half a dozen previous reports, a new report from Bloomberg suggests that Apple could ditch its Touch ID fingerprint sensor instead of 3D facial recognition on the next iPhone. The statement added that it would be used to unlock the screen, verify payments and launch secure apps, though it’s too early in development and, therefore, may not make it to this year’s iPhone 8.
Further proof that the Galaxy Note 8 will have a dual rear camera. A new leak for the upcoming Galaxy Note 8 confirms what we’ve seen before: the Samsung phone will have a horizontal dual camera setup on the rear. The design rendering comes from an accessory manufacturer, which has served as a good indicator of the final design of a phone in the past, as they still need some work to make phone cases and the like.
Karbonn K9 Kavach 4G touts a more secure BHIM and fingerprint sensor for Rs. 5,290Karbonn launched the K9 Kavach 4G in India on Tuesday for Rs. 5,290. The company highlighted the preloaded inclusion of the OHIM digital payments app, which is why it was considered appropriate to put a rear fingerprint sensor on the budget Android device. Karbonn said the app’s access and security mechanisms are embedded at the firmware level, presumably making it more secure than usual.
As for the phone itself, the K9 Kavach runs Android Nougat on a 5-inch HD IPS display, which a 1.25GHz quad-core processor powers with 1GB of RAM. There is a 5-megapixel camera on the front and back and 8 GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 32 GB via a microSD card.
Moto Mods get six new work-in-progress additions Lenovo unveiled a total of six new Moto Mods at an event in Ghana on Tuesday, including Moto 360 Camera Mod, the ROKR Mod, the Studio Mod, DirecTV Mod, DSLR Mod, and the Action Mod. They are all in progress, with the 360 camera closest to production. While it’s clear what the purpose is, the others help improve sound reproduction/recording, stream TV to your phone, or turn your Moto phone into a DSLR or GoPro-style camera. The Nubia N2 is on Amazon a day before the launch in India The Nubia N2 is a day away from the launch, but most of the details have been revealed via an Amazon listing and its Twitter account. In a tweet, Nubia India said the phone would go on sale at noon on July 5. The Amazon listing, on the other hand, confirms that the Indian variant of the N2 will be similar to the Chinese one. It has a 13-megapixel f/2.2 rear camera, 16-megapixel f/2.0 front camera, a 5.5-inch HD AMOLED display, an octa-core MediaTek chip, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of internal storage and a 5,000 mAh battery. Unfortunately, the Nubia N2 comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. All that’s left now is the price.

Despite being a week away from availability, Spice didn’t provide details about the new lineup. All we know is that the F301 will have “3D immersive sound”, the F302 will have a fingerprint scanner, and the K601 will have 2GB of RAM in addition to fingerprint sensor gestures. The Z101 and Z202 will have 2500 mAh batteries, the Z201 and Z301 will have dual speakers, and the Z202 can double as a power bank.
