LG today launched the V30+ smartphone in India, priced at Rs. 44,990; the handset will go on sale through Amazon India on December 18, with pre-bookings starting on Thursday. The LG V30+ has a 5.7-inch QHD FullVision display, 128GB of internal storage, and dual cameras on the back, apart from a 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC powered by Bang & Olufsen. Other key specs of the handset include Android 7.1.2 Nougat operating system, Snapdragon 835 SoC, 4GB RAM, a 5-megapixel front camera, up to 2TB microSD card support, and a 3300mAh battery.

Other features of the LG V30+ include a military-grade for shock resistance, facial recognition for unlocking, a fingerprint sensor, and a Floating Bar interface. As for the launch deals, LG offers bundled B&O Play earphones, a one-time free screen replacement worth Rs. 12,000, a free wireless charger worth Rs. 3,000, and in-app purchases worth Rs. 6,400 on the Beat Fever app.

Airtel 4G Hotspot Price Reduced to Rs. 999Airtel has lowered the price of its portable WiFi device 4G Hotspot to Rs. 999; it was available around Rs. 1,500 for that. The mobile hotspot can connect to up to ten devices at once and has a battery life of up to six hours. Its main rival is the JioFi M2S pocket router, which has similar features and costs Rs. 999. Airtel will soon start selling the device on Amazon India as well.

Also, today, the company has rolled out its 4G VoLTE calling service in Chennai, delivering HD quality voice calls and faster call setup in the region.

Vodafone upgrades Rs. 348 plans to offer 2 GB data per day. Vodafone subscribers will now get 2 GB data per day with the Rs. 348 prepaid plan, an increase of 1.5 GB; incidentally, the plan started with 1 GB of daily data allocation. Apart from that, the package comes with bundled calls (250 minutes per day, 1,000 minutes per week), free outgoing calls over roaming, and 100 text messages daily. The validity of the Vodafone Rs. 348 charge pack is 28 days, the same as before. This comes just a few days after Airtel offered 2GB of data per day at this price to better compete with Reliance Jio.

Apart from these, the Idea Data Carry Forward option allows users to use leftover data in a month until the next billing cycle, up to a maximum of 500 GB.

For select prepaid users, Idea has set the Rs. 398 plan with 1 GB of data per day and a validity of 70 days from 35 days. Apart from this, buyers get calling and SMS benefits and a cashback of Rs. 357 in the form of vouchers that can be redeemed when buying the next top-up.

Honor 8 Pro with 5.7-inch QHD display, octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 655 processor, 6 GB RAM, 128 GB storage, dual rear cameras, and a 4000 mAh battery are available now for Rs. 25,999. This represents an Rs. 4,000 price reduction on the launch price. Likewise, there are a Rs. 2,000 price cut on the 3GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB variants of Honor 6X, bringing their prices down to Rs. 9,999 and Rs. 11,999, respectively.

Nokia 9, Nokia 6 (2018) spotted online with model numbers The upcoming Nokia 9 and Nokia 6 (2018) have been spotted again, this time on the Chinese 3C certification website. While this doesn’t reveal much about the two smartphones, we get the handsets’ model numbers. Nokia 6 (2018) is listed as model number TA-1054, while Nokia 9 is listed as TA-1042. The Nokia 9 is rumored to come in two other variants with model numbers TA-1005 and TA-1009. Apart from these, two other Nokia handsets were spotted online, with model numbers TA-1062 and TA-1077. An earlier report mentioned the Nokia 9 and Nokia 8 (2018) launch on January 19, so Nokia 6 (2018) may be in on it as well.

Misfit Vapor touchscreen smartwatch released in IndiaFossil-owned Misfit has launched its Vapor touchscreen smartwatch in India for Rs. 14,495. Available exclusively on Flipkart, the Android Wear 2.0 watch features a 1.39-inch all-round AMOLED display with a pixel density of 326 ppi, metal bezels, 4GB of storage, a Snapdragon 2100 chip, fitness tracking features, and a microphone. Misfit Vapor is compatible with devices running Android 4.3 and above and iOS 9 and above and is water resistant to 50 meters.

Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018), Galaxy A8+ (2018) design leaked A user guide on the official Samsung website has informed the creation of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018) smartphones. It reveals that the first two smartphones will feature a borderless Infinity Display design and dual rear cameras, as shown by previous leaks. Other key features in the leak include a fingerprint scanner, a primary camera sensor, LED flash, NFC support, two SIM card slots (Nano), and a microSD card slot. The official document also reveals that the Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018) will have WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS, and NFC support in terms of connectivity.

OnePlus 5 now gets OxygenOS 4.5.15 update OnePlus 5 gets the OxygenOS 4.5.15 update, with bug fixes and the October security update. This update is based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and is only 74 MB. The major upgrades that the OnePlus 5 brings include GPS improvements and fixes to issues such as setting a custom alarm ringtone, sharing Bitmoji emojis, and a few other minor bug fixes. While the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T have received the public Android Oreo updates, the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T have not; however, fans can download the beta version of Oreo builds until the stable build rolls out in January.
