OnePlus 5T specs and price leaked? OnePlus 5T will likely be the last flagship smartphone to launch in 2017. The smartphone has made headlines thanks to the rumor mill, which never stops leaking important information about smartphones. This time we have informed the specs and price, with a rumored release in November. If we believe these leaks, the OnePlus 5T will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, an Adreno 540 GPU, 8 GB of RAM, and 128 GB of storage. This rumor also suggests that the smartphone will have two 20-megapixel sensors in its rear camera, but as with all stories, we recommend taking this one with a grain of salt. Oh, and if you’re interested in the price, another leak claims the OnePlus 5T will cost $549 (around Rs. 35,500).

Jio raises the price of 91GB data planJio Rs. 491 plan launched last week as part of the Diwali tariff overhaul has received a price increase within days of its release. This morning, the rate has been revised to Rs. 499. The increase is marginal, but it is unclear what prompted the review of this particular plan, and there was no official announcement. This plan offers 91 GB of data at 1 GB per day and is valid for 91 days. It falls nicely between the Rs. 459 and Rs. 509 subscriptions offered by Reliance Jio. The Rs. 459 Jio plan provides 84 GB of data for 84 days, and the Rs. 509 plan providoffersof data per day for 49 days. The price increase on the Rs. 491 project reminds us that these offers won’t last forever, and once the market corrects itself, we’ll probably pay more.

iPhone X Indian pre-orders start on Friday; Google Pixel 2 and 2 XL on Thursday Pre-orders for iPhone X in India will begin on Friday, October 27. Apple’s rimless flagship will go on sale in India on November 3, starting at Rs. 89,000. Ecommerce retailers, including Amazon and Flipkart, are taking iPhone X pre-orders in India and have already made the pre-booking pages live. However, don’t expect the iPhone X to be in stock for very long at first, though.

Meanwhile, Google’s Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will go on pre-orders in India starting Thursday. Online, the new Pixel hardware is available exclusively through Flipkart in India. Pre-orders for India start tonight at noon. Shipments for the Pixel 2 will begin on November 1 and the Pixel 2 XL on November 15. Interested?

Amazon will sell smart locks to slide packages into your home. The world of technology is only getting more invasive in the name of convenience. The latest device here is a new smart lock that Amazon wants to sell. This new hardware is called Amazon Key, which allows you to remotely control who is at the door and let them in. This means the Amazon delivery person can theoretically be let into your home to drop off a package while you’re in the office or traveling. While Amazon says early tests have shown that theft isn’t a problem, we’re far from convinced to let strangers into our homes if we’re not at home in the name of “convenience.”

Google Play Protect is not as effective as its rivals. Google Play Protect is Android’s built-in antivirus service, and it turns out it’s not as effective as third-party anti-malware apps. Germany-based AV-Test conducted an independent test comparing Google Play Protect against other antivirus software and found that Google’s solution detected only 65.8 percent of malware against an industry average of 96 percent through 3,016 samples of the latest Android malware. A total of 21 mobile security apps on Android were part of this test, but unfortunately, Google Play Protect didn’t do very well.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Announced; Price Ashes Cricket India revealed Nintendo had announced an Animal Crossing game for mobile. This game is Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp and will be available soon on iOS and Android. This game is free to play, so expect plenty of in-app purchases, but if Nintendo’s mobile games released so far are any indication, we might get another polished smartphone game from the company. Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is scheduled for late November, but unfortunately, India is not on the list of countries where it will initially launch.

Meanwhile, the India release date and price of Ashes Cricket for Xbox One and PS4 have been revealed. The cricket match, which revolves around the series The Ashes between England and Australia, costs Rs. 4,299 in India, which is on the higher side.

Gmail Gets Native Add-ons, Takes Over Outlook To take over Outlook, Google has brought native add-ons to Gmail. With Gmail add-ons, you can access apps essential to your work, such as Trello, directly from Gmail. In the future, you could see add-ons that allow you to easily sign documents now in Gmail, making a big difference to businesses. HTC U11 Life launches on November 2. HTC has teased the new U11 variant on Twitter with a teaser that says, “You’ll see it all on 11.02.2017.” The teaser shows the back panel of the upcoming smartphone, which offers a fingerprint scanner on the back, a single camera on the back, and an LED flash. Separately, prolific tipster Evan Blass has claimed that at the November 2 launch event, only the mid-range HTC U11 Life was unveiled and not the HTC U11 Plus, which has been circulating the web.
