Poco F4 5G debuted in India Thursday as the brand’s latest model. The smartphone has a 120Hz AMOLED display and three rear cameras. The Poco F4 5G also includes the Snapdragon 870 SoC, a flagship chipset for mid-range phones. The smartphone supports Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision. It competes with the iQoo Neo 6 that debuted in May, with a similar spec list and under Rs. 35,000 prices.
Gadgets 360 podcast Orbital Host Akhil Arora speaks with Review Editor Roydon Cerejo and Senior Reviewer Aditya Shenoy to discuss the Poco F4 5G and find out if it’s the best choice in its segment.
The Poco F4 5G belongs to the Poco F series, which is popular for delivering the best possible performance for the price. But in addition to the version, the new Poco phone has a premium look to attract customers.
In terms of performance, the Poco F4 5G comes with the Snapdragon 870 SoC, which is paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage. The smartphone also has a 6.67-inch Samsung E4 AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It also has a triple rear camera with a 64-megapixel primary sensor.
The Poco F4 5G has a 4,500 mAh battery with 67 W wired charging and 10 W wireless. There is also a bundled charger that supports the 67W above fast charging. Furthermore, the phone runs Android 12 with MIUI 13 on top. However, Poco has not confirmed when exactly it will release the Android 13 update.
In terms of design, the Poco F4 5G comes with an IP53 rating which is water resistant. The phone is also available in two different colors.
In the same price segment, the iQoo Neo 6 has much the same specs, although that model comes with 80W fast charging.
Aside from the iQoo Neo 6, the Poco F4 5G is a good replacement for the Mi 11X launched last year. The Motorola Edge 30 also falls in the same price segment.
