Vivo X70 Pro+ is the latest flagship phone from the Chinese company to take on the Samsung Galaxy S21+, Mi 11 Ultra, and the iPhone 13. The new model brings a handful of significant upgrades over the Vivo X60 Pro+ that was rolled out in April. The Vivo X70 Pro+ in India is set at Rs. 79,990, and the phone comes with high-end specs, including a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ SoC, 12GB of RAM, and a 120Hz AMOLED display. You also get a quad camera on the rear with Vivo’s GoPro-style gimbal support for image optimization.

This week on the Gadgets 360 podcast Orbital, host Akhil Arora speaks with Senior Reviewer Sheldon Pinto and Deputy Reviewer Editor Roydon Cerejo to talk about the Vivo X70 Pro+.

We start the discussion by pointing out the main differences between the Vivo X70 Pro+ and Vivo X60 Pro+. The new model fills in the gaps left by the previous version. These include the absence of stereo speakers, IP68 rating, and wireless and reverse wireless charging. The Vivo X70 Pro+ also supports 50W fast wireless charging.

Vivo has given the X70 Pro+ a host of camera improvements to attract buyers. The quad-camera on the rear includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 48-megapixel secondary sensor with an f/1.6 ultra-wide lens and Gimbal support, a 12-megapixel portrait sensor, apart from an 8-megapixel sensor with a periscope-shaped lens. All four cameras come with optical image stabilization (OIS). That is virtually unheard of.

In addition, the X70 Pro+ includes a unique feature called horizon line stabilization. This works similarly to the Horizon Lock on GoPro and ensures that the phone keeps the scene level with the horizon even if the user rotates the phone 360 degrees while shooting. It’s cool what it is.

Vivo X70 Pro+ Review: Perfect Picture?

In addition to the built-in cameras, the Vivo X70 Pro+ has a Zeiss T* coating that helps reduce glare and ghosting in low-light photos. The phone also supports up to 5x optical and 60x digital zoom. Though, you know, the output at 60x is nothing to shout about.

The Vivo X70 Pro+ also features the latest Snapdragon 888+ SoC designed to deliver excellent performance results out-of-the-box. On the software side, there’s Funtouch OS 12 based on Android 11. The custom skin is a mix of the company’s existing Funtouch OS and the new OriginOS to provide a different experience from other phones with the Vivo branding.

We discuss several aspects of the new skin and what makes the Vivo X70 Pro+ an attractive option over the Samsung Galaxy S21+, Mi 11 Ultra, and the iPhone 13. You can catch all that and more by hitting the play button on the Spotify player embedded above.

I have been blogging since August 2011. I have had over 10,000 visitors to my blog! My goal is to help people, and I have the knowledge and the passion to do this. I love to travel, dance, and play volleyball. I also enjoy hanging out with my friends and family. I started writing my blogs when I lived in California. I would wake up in the middle of the night and write something while listening to music and looking at the ocean. When I moved to Texas, I found a new place to write. I would sit in my backyard while everyone else was at work, and I could write all day.
