Minecraft gets cross-platform play. Minecraft has received the Better Together update, the highlight of which is cross-platform play. This was first announced at E3 2017, meaning people who play different versions of Minecraft on platforms like Windows 10, Xbox One, Xbox One X, VR, and mobile versions can play together. You can even play the game on one platform and continue on another. The Nintendo Switch will get this update later this year. That leaves the elephant in the room – Sony. As of now, Sony has refused to add cross-platform play to Minecraft, likely because it requires Xbox Live, and Sony doesn’t want a competitor’s service to run on its hardware.
